Amy Benson told her mother when she was three that she wanted to be a Paramedic.  A couple decades later, she accomplished that and has since been working full-time for the City of Edmonton and Edmonton Metro. Her passion is for caring for people and for their health and wellness, with her focus largely on her colleagues.   Since starting in EMS, she has also held the role of a personal fitness trainer and has successfully completed her training in Life Coaching and Nutrition.  Most recently, she has taken a position within Alberta Health Services EMS Community Care and completed the Project Management Certificate from NAIT.  She is still working as a Paramedic and helping with development of the new program which focuses on “Providing the Right Care, to the Right Client at the Right Time” which aims to care for the heavy users of Emergency Resources by connecting them to the established community resources most appropriate for their needs.  Outside of work Amy enjoys spending time with her friends and dog Sierra, learning, being active and running marathons.
